Florence, AL Florence, AL Full-time Full-time $15 - $18 an hour $15 - $18 an hour 10 hours ago 10 hours ago 10 hours ago The Accounting Clerk for HPS North America, LLC (HPS) is responsible for handling bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable duties for multiple business entities operating under the TMT America, Inc.
(TMT) company umbrella.
Your primary goal will be to maintain accurate financial records, ensure timely payments and collections, and support the smooth operation of the accounting department.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, such as sales, purchases, expenses, and payments, for multiple TMT business entities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers for each entity, ensuring proper classification and posting of transactions.
Process accounts payable activities, including verifying and coding invoices, obtaining approvals, preparing payment batches, and ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.
Reconcile bank statements and other financial records for each entity, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.
Generate financial reports, such as HPS Daily Numbers, Buying Group reports, Distributor Credit Reports, and other internal financial reports as needed.
Manage accounts and reconcile monthly billing statements for AT&T, Comcast, and Xfinity.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards for each business entity.
Liaise with vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve any accounting-related inquiries or issues.
Support the preparation of documentation and assist with audits and financial reviews.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable functions.
Assist with all other accounting, clerical, and administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper, or similar role.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications (particularly Excel).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and procedures.
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Prior experience with handling multiple entities or divisions is a plus.
Education/
Experience:
An associate degree or higher in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
3-5 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or similar experience is necessary.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience with QuickBooks is beneficial.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements of this position involve light work where the worker sits most of the time.
Physical demands include occasional stooping and standing; frequent reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motion; continuous talking, hearing, fingering/handling, and close visual acuity.
Work Location/Environmental Condition:
This position is based at the Florence Support Center in Florence, Alabama.
The conditions are that of typical office work and the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
